How can I Sign My Will And Maintain Coronavirus Distancing?

During the Coronavirus outbreak, many of you are at home and have the rare opportunity to devote time to updating your will and estate planning.  The Coronavirus health impact has reminded us all of our fragility and the need to have a plan in place.  However, I am sure some of you are wondering how you can get a new will prepared, signed and witnessed during these trying times.

At Unruh, Turner, Burke & Frees, our estate planning team is still working full time and has a process in place to make sure you can have a new, or updated, will prepared and signed into effect while never leaving the safety and comfort of your own home.  We are committed to making this process as easy as possible for you.

If you contact our office now at 610 933 8069, we will schedule you for an initial conference by phone or video conference and simultaneously send you an estate planning questionnaire to be completed and returned for review prior to your appointment.

Following our initial phone or video conference, we will prepare your will to your specifications.  We will send the document to you so that we can discuss the provisions with you in detail and ultimately provide you with the steps needed to sign a legally binding will right in your own home. Once the Will is signed, you will send it back to our office for copying and scanning.  The original Will is ultimately returned to you for safekeeping.

Pennsylvania law is adapting to this crisis situation and is making virtual notary and witnessing a real possibility in the near future. By the time you read this, our firm may already be approved to fully execute documents during a virtual appointment.

So, as discussed above, you do not have to let social distancing keep you from updating your last will. You will continue to get all of our expertise and white glove treatment, all without having to come into the office.  We want you to know we are here for you and that we can still get your planning done for you while you have this opportunity.
